BOOK WEEK

On Monday 20 of August we all dressed up as a book character. I dressed up as Rodrick from Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I chose him because I like him.

Then Julian, Steven, Harry and I read the book  ‘The last Viking’ to 1/2 Payne. Then we created a viking ship. It took a long time to make. There were lots of elements to this artwork. We made the ship out of strips of wood coloured paper. We used kindergaten squares as the sail and ice-cream sticks as the oars. We used magiclay for the ends of the ship, and put gold paint on them.

Today was a fun day.

INANAMITE ALICE

Mrs Taylor has been coming into our classroom to teach us about annotating and to understand what we are reading.  We annotated the print version of the movie, then watched it. We wrote questions which we shared with the class.

Then we did some activities. We annotated a part of the Hunger Games, talked about what good readers do, and wrote what good digital stories have, and compared the digital and print stories.

Then we watched epsidoe two and compared it with episode one.  We worked out a formula of the Inanamite Alice epsidoes. We wrote about Alice. We wrote what we know about her, what we dont know and what we infer about her. We predicted what would happen in episode 3.Then we watched episode three.

We watched episode 4. We also watched an episode mady by students from another school. After we watched them, we talk about the differences, similarities and which one was better and why.

Then we got a partner, I was partned with Jack. We were going to make our own Inamamite Alice. So we brainstormed and thought about what was going to happen in our movie. We are currently writing our scripts.
